I have added a product rating feature to my website. You can go on there and praise or disrespect, your choice. It is located on the details page of each product and is sent directly to the shopping cart. I added this feature for a few reasons, one of them because it came with an updated version of my current shopping cart. Secondly, I am not able to interact directly with my customers like I would at a market or fair, so it is important that I hear directly from you. I’d really love to hear from you!
My Favorites
August 22, 2009My personal favorites are Lavender Rose, Vanilla Rose, Calla Lily, Apple Blossoms, Cotton Pickin, Decadence, Deep Blue Sea, Gardenia, Honeysuckle, Midnight Cowboy for him, Pear, Sakura, and Sunrise. My favorites can and do change depending on my whims:) These are not all the biggest sellers, however! Everyone has their own personal favorites, obviously.
New Look to Packaging Soon
August 20, 2009Since we had a computer crash a few weeks ago, I keep finding out that I lost a few key files. Some of them have involved labels for soap. So, I decided that if I am going to recreate labels, I could also go for a new look, which I’ve done a few times over the past few years. As my business has evolved, so have the feelings that are generated from the labels. I have tried, as everyone does, to capture the essence of my soap in a label.
Soap Making at its Finest
August 17, 2009As one cartoon character says, “the secret ingredient is love”. I have found (this is really true!) that when I make soap just to be making soap, it is nothing special. It becomes a mass produced, carbon copy soap batch just like all the others. When I make soap and put my entire being into it and focus on all aspects, which for me, includes my spirituality and communion with God, the environment and nature, that soap tends to be so much better. It takes on a life of its own. It really is true though. So, now the thing is, which soap has the secret ingredient and which one doesn’t? Huh?
Old Sayings
August 10, 2009Those old sayings that have been around forever take on new meaning when they become relevant, such as “when it rains, it pours” or “what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger” (it’s goes something like that). Yes, well, this has been one of the most memorable weeks I can remember. And it all culminated with my birthday, which slid easily by amidst all the craziness. Bug bites of unknown origin, computer crashes, scouts, school, moving days, and hot flashes. Fortunately, God blessed me with soap and that keeps me sane when the entire world seems to have grown crazy. Looking at the pandemic flu signs up at school didn’t help either.
Dead Sea Mud
July 31, 2009Learning more about Dead Sea Mud today! There are so many mysteries in this world.
Goat Milk Cream Revisited
July 12, 2009I’ve had many requests over the years for different creams, lotion, various scents, etc. I finally have settled on a few scents that do well for most people, although I still may have a few tweaks left (leaving myself an out). The good thing is – I can scent the cream I am making with anything, you only have to ask!
We only have the one cream for now, no lotions. For me, a goat milk lotion is harder to preserve and the cream is more stable, in case you are wondering.
I have it in the works to make a cocoa butter cream, as well as one or two more goodies. It’s a secret for now (leaving myself another out in case it doesn’t work out), but those of us in the upper 40 range need a bit of extra help, I am finding out.
I need to hurry up and finish though – things always start hopping around here in late August as retailers begin to stock up for fall and the Holidays! So, keep fingers crossed for that Cocoa Butter Cream and something else soon!

Dealing with the Unexpected
June 2, 2009On Friday, I will come back from a week long and much needed break. Although I miss my soap and my business doings, it has been great to think and finally relax. What was a surprise is that my phone is not getting a signal where we are. Imagine that! Even more disturbing is that the computer is also getting an intermittent signal. My reaction to this outwardly to my family was “it’s ok – no big deal” but inwardly I was not liking the feeling of being cutoff. But, I told myself, it’s only for a week! C’mon, give yourself a break. It will still be there and no worse for the wear.
So, I am forced to not return any phone calls until Friday, but at least I can catch a signal sometimes on the laptop. Pitiful, I am.
