Making More Soap

We are out of a bit of soap and will not be making more for the next 2 weeks.  But, on the list to make are all the ones we are out of, plus a few more new ones (Rooibos Tea, Kudzu, and Patchouli).

We will also be keeping Berries and Cream, as well as Ocean since they have had such a positive response. 

Also, I had a bit of fun today – it only took 30 minutes to make some solid shampoo bars.  I used a new method of my own and I’m waiting to see if they turn out, much less work!  If they do work, I will use cocoa butter next time – I forgot to use it this time.  They contain detergents to increase their rinsing ability.  Don’t shoot the messenger!

Naming Soap

It can be as mundane as eating a sugar cookie or as exciting as finding that there is oil in your backyard.

Out of Stock

It isn’t fun to see soap out of stock, but we are going to be making lots more soap in the next few weeks. It has been exceptionally busy during April.

Handmade soap is a very good cure for it-especially goat milk soap!

First Quarter Bestsellers

It’s in!  The top selling soap for the first quarter of the year goes something like this:  Hospitality soap was number 1; then, Oatmeal, Milk & Honey, Cotton Pickin, Dead Sea Mud, Botanical Lavender, Eucalyptus Spearmint, Bay Spice Shaving Soap, Almond, Honeysuckle, Southern Magnolia, Angel Darlin, Camellia, Royal Jelly & Shea, Midnight Cowboy, Calendula, and last, but not least, Night Y’all. 

An interesting list, but some of the new soaps have not had time to rank yet, so we’ll keep you posted!

Mechanic’s Soap

I had a request to make some mechanic’s soap (think Lava) which I made this morning.  I think it’s going to be great – it’s made with Pumice (finely ground lava), and essential oils.  I plan on keeping it around.

Social Networking

I take it all back – maybe I can afterall.  It’s like anything else.  Just jump in there and do it.  It gets easier as you go along, I am finding.  Now, I am understanding what some of the attraction is.  Connecting is the key word.
