It can be as mundane as eating a sugar cookie or as exciting as finding that there is oil in your backyard.

Wonder of wonders, we have added to our list again. Setting limits is a good thing, but soap is limitless, we have decided.

Don’t know if you noticed, but we recycle boxes here at Country Scents. It saves money and then we can pass that on. We always remove the old shipping labels, however. A good way to remove them is by using a utility knife or box cutter. Just go lightly around the edges of the label without delving into the box itself and then pull it off. This way, the box is left intact and reusable. We try to recycle any packaging we can – boxes, packing peanuts, packing paper, etc.

It has taken me the entire month of January to really get my creative juices together. I have some new scent blends and am really excited about all of our handmade soap and cream that is coming this year. It took a while to get it all together and that’s ok. Good things come to those who wait and that’s what is coming in soap and cream.
A few new scents to look for are Gardenia (by request), Magnificent, and Daffodils for Spring. Love it!

I read an article today about how color affects our thinking and what we associate with color. The article was specifically referencing labels. We have changed our label design and think it reflects exactly how we feel and hope others feel about our handmade soap. Using green evokes nature and the environment. We heartily agree!

On a cold winter day, colder than any day I can remember, it is nice to use something floral scented in the bath to remind us that spring is around the corner. Any flower would probably work, but try one that is close to your heart – I just remember tasting Honeysuckle in the summer and the pure, childish delight that I felt!
